twitter.com is a horrible website. It is full of weird humor that makes absolutely no sense and reaction gifs. Also the politics are horrible and all people on the website who are not bots are obsessed with it. Nevertheless it is a source of hilarity even though it is horrible and addictive.

I completely disagree with your evaluation of twitter. If you are evaluating a site only on certain posts that have bothered you or by some of the people that use it, then you are looking at it completely wrong. The site is actually extremely efficient at accomplishing its goal. It does this by showing you trends / people you might want to follow on the side and in the center you only see tweets from people you follow. There are plenty of intellectual and regular people / communities that use twitter you just need to follow them.
